Older vehicles need a fundamentally different approach, and the biggest risk is a detailer treating them like a modern car. Chrome brightwork pits and cannot be aggressively polished without losing plating. Single-stage paint gives up pigment on every pass. Original interiors have brittle vinyl, delicate stitching, and headliners that will tear under normal pressure. Rubber seals dry out and crack if hit with harsh degreasers. Our method is conservative by default: gentle chemistry, minimal moisture around any area where water could sit and encourage rust, and honest conversation about what we recommend leaving alone. Original patina has value that a too-aggressive polish destroys permanently. This is not restoration work. We are not rebuilding or repainting anything. It is careful cleaning, conservative paint care, and protection for a vehicle you intend to keep exactly as it is.
Our Approach to Older Vehicles
Stage I: Survey Before Touching
Paint system, chrome condition, interior materials, and seal integrity are assessed so we know what can safely be worked on and what cannot.
Stage II: Gentle, Low-Moisture Cleaning
Minimal water is used anywhere it could sit in seams or panel gaps, since trapped moisture is how rust starts on an older body.
Stage III: Protect and Advise
A protective sealant is applied where appropriate, and we tell you plainly which areas we recommend leaving untouched.
