The most advanced correction we do, and the most carefully assessed.
Wet sanding is the only way to remove defects that live deeper than polishing can reach: orange peel texture, paint runs, heavy oxidation, and the mismatched texture you sometimes get after a body shop repaint. It works by carefully sanding the clear coat perfectly flat with ultra-fine abrasives and water, then restoring full gloss through a complete multi-stage polish. Done well, the result is glass-flat paint that reflects like a mirror. Done carelessly, it burns through the clear coat and costs a repaint, which is why this service is by assessment only. We measure clear coat thickness with a paint depth gauge across the panel before we start, and if there is not enough material to work with safely, we tell you no. Most commonly requested after collision repair work, on older repainted panels, or by owners who want factory orange peel removed entirely.
Our Wet Sanding Protocol
Stage I: Paint Depth Mapping
Readings are taken across every panel being treated. Panels without enough clear coat are excluded, no exceptions, regardless of the request.
Stage II: Controlled Sanding
Progressive ultra-fine grits with water level the texture, checked constantly so only the minimum necessary material is removed.
Stage III: Full Gloss Restoration
A complete compound, polish, and finish sequence brings the sanded surface back to full clarity and depth.
